Adam Engle
Swimming Achievement Scholarship

In an effort to build unity and encourage our summer swimmers to continue their swimming careers through their MCHS years, the Manheim Summer Swim Team is proud to have established the Adam Engle Swimming Achievement Scholarship.

This educational scholarship has been presented annually since 1996, to a graduating female swimmer and a graduating male swimmer to aid in their future education and/or professional training plans.

These swimmers have been committed to our summer swim team as well as the high school team. They are strong students who will be furthering their education. By recognizing the combination of summer team involvement, high school team participation, and strong academic skills, the Adam Engle Swimming Achievement Scholarship will serve as a symbol of this committment from the Manheim Summer Swim Team.

The board chose to name this scholarship in honor of Adam Engle because of his spectacular swimming and academic career at MCHS from 1991 - 1995. Adam's achievements are:

* Academic All-American
* 1st place in the 50 Freestyle at the All-American High School Meet
* 3 time All-American
* 2 time All-American honorable mention
* 5 time PIAA State Champion
* 3 State Meet records
* 5 time District Champ
* 1 District record
* 3 CPSL Most Valuable Swimmer
* 10 out of 11 MCHS school records
* 4 year letter winner
* 3 year National Honor Society member

Adam was also a member of the Manheim Swim Team starting when he was 7 years old and continuing through graduation. Look for the many pool and county records he still holds today.

DISCIPLINE CODE

* If a swimmer is being disruptive he/she will be warned
* If the behavior continues his/her parents will be informed of the problem
* If this does not correct the situation the coach and parents will decide what action needs to be taken

Parents

You are responsible for your child's behavior at all swim meets. Coaches will be getting the swimmers ready for their events and do not have time to police the team.

Swimmers should

* Sit with the Team especially during dual meets
* Cheer for your Team
* Remove all trash from our area after the meet
* Check for clothing or swim gear that has been left behind
* Return found clothing or swim gear to the lost and found in the Team room at our pool
